A regulated financial centre

Credit institutions and management companies make up Monaco’s financial landscape. As of 2021, the financial centre was home to no fewer than 27 credit institutions and 61 management companies, with deposits and securities totalling 148 billion euros.

The presence of major international groups and banking and finance professionals of many different nationalities makes Monaco a firmly international financial centre, one that has historically specialised in asset management for high-net-worth clients, both residents and non-residents of the Principality.

The Monegasque legislative and regulatory framework is designed to promote the development of financial activities while affording the highest levels of protection to investors. Credit institutions and management companies in Monaco which provide portfolio management services, domestic and/or foreign fund management services, advisory services and reception-transmission of orders, are all duly authorised and supervised by the CCAF.
The list of authorised firms and the activities for which they are authorised can be viewed on this website.

The strictly banking activities of credit institutions are supervised by the French ACPR.
