Custody-account keeping services

Credit institutions which provide custody-account keeping services or administration of financial instruments are subject to supervision by the Commission, which may carry out controls in the form of desk audits or on-site inspections.
This activity entails holding financial instruments in accounts in the name of their holder and safeguarding the corresponding assets. It is governed by Act No. 1,314 of 29 June 2006 and its implementing Ministerial Decree, both of which are available to view this website.

Firms must have the necessary resources and procedures in place, particularly in terms of human resources, IT systems, accounting systems, client protection measures, and internal controls.
